Applications are invited from experienced, enthusiastic, committed, dedicated, compassionate and kind individuals who have the knowledge, maturity and the capacity to unite and work in a team to lead prayers at Epsom Islamic Centre. Duties include leading all daily salah, Jummah salah and during Ramadan Tarawih salah. An important aspect of your role would be, to be responsible for the Madrassa classes for children. The Madrassa is both daily (Monday to Thursday, inclusive and Saturday when majority of children attend and is supported by teachers for whom you as lead Imam would be responsible. Additionally as the main Imam you will also run study circles for adults, and representing the community in the interfaith activities, which is an important aspect of the Epsom & Ewell Epsom Islamic Society. The Candidate will be expected to lead the management of all relevant administrative activities in relation to delivery of their duties such as maintaining of the data base for Madrassa children. Comprehensive Islamic knowledge including Tajweed and fluency in Arab and English is required. Basic computer skills are preferred. Candidates will be required to demonstrate previous experience of performing in the role of an Imam and an understanding of and proven experience of dealing with local issues.
