MADRASAH

In order to fulfil the needs of educating and empowering our children with the essential Islamic teachings, Epsom and Ewell Islamic Society has been continuously offering Islamic education services. We currently have Madrasah/Maktab service running for both boys and girls. We accept boys and girls between the ages of 6 to 15 years. Please note that our boys’ class 5 to 7 years old is currently at full capacity, though applications can still be submitted to be placed on the waiting list.

  • Our minimum age is 6 years old. The eldest students we currently enrol are 14 years old. (We are looking to expand teaching to older students in the future once we gain more space Insha Allah)

  • The Madrasah is open Saturdays 10.30am to after Zuhr. Students are expected to pray Zuhr namaz before leaving.

  • We close for school holidays in December, Easter and Summer. We close for Ramadan. We are open for half term holidays.

  • Class sizes aim to be set at a maximum of 15 students.

  • We teach the Alphabet using the Qaidah (Ahsan ul Qawaid).

  • Students also learn to memorise short Surahs and Duas.

  • Advanced students progress to reading Juz Ammah (the 30th and last Juz of the Quran containing 37 Surahs)

  • The ultimate aim Insha Allah is for students to read the Quran.

  • Islamic studies is taught using a series of books that progressively get more in-depth published by Safar Academy

  • Our fees for the full year are £270 (including books and a bag) and £250 for returning students. 

  • The Madrasah year runs from September to July.

New students will need to complete an application form which can be downloaded below. Please email completed forms to madrasah@eeis.co.uk or submit physically to the Mosque office during the above hours. The imam will assess the application the class level of the student and to determine if there is capacity in that class. Following confirmation of a space being available, please make payment for this term. If there are currently no spaces available your application will be held on file and added to our waiting list. Your positon on the waiting  list will be based on the time we first received your completed application form.

The uniform is a white thobe and topi for boys and a black kurti/trousers and white hijab for girls. Please see below a leaflet to an unaffiliated shop that sells uniform if you need to purchase these.
